![]() Today, Mr Global Citizen would like you to think about the 'Global Economy'. He would like to begin with a quote from Martin Luther King as a starting point:- Question: In what ways are Martin Luther's words true for you? Discuss. Globalisation and Interdependence What does this mean? It is when one country depends on another country for something and that country may depend on another country, which eventually creates global interdependence. Importing and exporting of goods and services highly contributes to global interdependence. We live in an interconnected world in which decisions taken in one place can affect people living on the other side of the planet. However, the idea of global interdependence goes further, recognising that even the wealthiest countries rely heavily on other countries’ riches – from physical commodities such as foodstuffs and minerals to knowledge and culture. Have you ever wondered where your food comes from - locally or overseas? Mr Global Citizen's Quest Have a discussion with your families to identify where certain foods come from e.g exotic fruits, tea, cocoa beans? Where did they grow and how did they end up on our tables to eat and drink? Click on the link to see where all the foods imported from other countries come from www.glotechrepairs.co.uk/news/the-uks-top-food-imports-and-where-they-come-from/ Importing and exporting different foods globally equals 'money' and lots of it! This is referred to as the 'Economy'; how much money countries make from importing and exporting foods.
Matthew in Class 2 has been learning how to draw sharks following a step by step guide on Youtube and has also written 5 facts about sharks that he's learnt today. Fab work Matthew - thank you for sending it in to us.
![]() Good morning Trinity! Today, Mr Global Citizen wants you to think about the meaning of 'Cultural Awareness'. Mrs Global Citizen's Quiz How many cultures can you name? How many religions can you name? How many languages do you know and how many can you speak? How many ways can you say 'Hello' in a different language? Have you ever tried different cuisines - foods from other countries? Can you name some dishes? Do you know the history about other countries? Post in your comments and answers. Share these questions with your families to create discussion and find out what they know. Learn from each other! As a family at home, you could create a multi-cultural menu you would like to eat or maybe try your hand at cooking some of the dishes! Put on some multi-cultural music and have a dance around the living room! Let's celebrate 'Cultural Awareness'!
Class 5 have been writing about gadgets for their home learning. Ben Corfield has written this great advert for his gadget - read and enjoy. Well done Ben! SPY GLASSES 5000
Are you a great spy who loves the latest state-of-the-art gadget? If you are, I recommend you to buy the spy glasses 5000. When you enter the room with the spy glasses 5000 not only you will look cool, the lenses will show you information about everyone in the room. It will tell you who they are, if they are wanted and what they are wanted for. The spy glasses have a hidden feature of a poison dart that can be fired from the button on the stalk of the glasses. An extra bonus is that the glasses connect to a space shuttle that can send armed drones and a very small nuke on command. The glasses can also see through walls giving you the power of x-ray vision. The biggest benefit of wearing these glasses is that you don't have to carry as much heavy tech, which means you are always ready for a fistfight. Here's what Tony Stark - also known as Iron Man - has to say about the Spy Glasses 5000: “This is an amazing piece of tech! If I could put it into my suit I would.” If that is not enough, buy today and get a limited edition glasses case signed by Tony Stark himself: buy now at; www.spygadgets.com at the amazing price of £200! A 'Global Citizen' is someone who is aware of and understands the wider world - and their place in it. They take an active role in their community, and work with others to make our planet more equal, fair and sustainable. People are part of a worldwide community. It can be broken down into four parts: 1. Civic Responsibilities - are actions people to do to help their communities be successful. For example if you've ever helped your neighbor, donated food to the homeless and so on. 2.Cultural Awareness - to learn about other people's:
3. Environment - helping to protect and sustain. 4. Global Economy - how things can be bought and sold all over the globe. At school, you will be learning lots about all of these throughout your time at Trinity. But for now to keep you on track working from home, Mr Global Citizen would like you to complete today's quest.
Quest Write headings for the 'Environment' and 'Civic Responsibilities'. Now make a list of what you do underneath, to identify what makes you a 'Global Citizen' - what have you contributed to, to becoming a 'Global Citizen'? Have a discussion with your families. Post in your answers and thoughts if you'd like to share.
