Our Journey Days
Every Term, we choose one of our school values to explore during a 'Journey Day'.
Each Journey Day begins with collective worship to introduce the value chosen and then pupils explore what the value really means through a range of engaging activities throughout the day.

Children were separated into 5 groups (mixed-up from Rec to Y6) and rotated around the activities during the day, learning about various celebrations across the globe.
The day included the following activities:
· Collective Worship (introduction to Celebrations around the World)
· Activity 1 – Diwali – Professional Indian Dance Workshop
· Activity 2 – Christmas Around the World—Christmas decorations with Christmas wishes
· Activity 3 - Thanksgiving—the ‘thanksgiving tree’ - what are we thankful for
· Activity 4 - Hanukkah—dreidel—a traditional Jewish game played during Hanukkah
· Activity 5 - Loy Kathrong– floating lamps
· Collective Worship (to discuss the day and end-of-day quiz)
Pupils were inquisitive about other faiths and religious festivals, learning about other cultures and beliefs, and celebrating diversity across the world. Pupils were able to spiritually develop through a growing awareness of self, others, beauty and beyond through the various activities.
The Indian Dance Workshop leader said that ‘it is the best school she has worked in’ and she was ‘impressed by the pupils behaviour and level of participation’ - well done Trinity for being ‘the best we can be’!
It was a great success and our pupils had a fantastic day!

Spring Term 2024
Values: Compassionate
This term's Journey Day – linked to our value of being Compassionate – had a focus on protecting the planet and our environment.
This also coincided with World Book Day so most activities had a book linked to our theme for the day as a stimulus for each session. Staff and pupils dressed-up in ‘green’ for our environmental focus or a ‘book character’ as it was World Book Day! Sarah Corkhill, a local artist/author, also came in to read her new story about recycling which was fantastic!
The day began with a special assembly, with a reading of the Creation Story and how God wants us to look after our planet, and then pupils rotated around 5 activities throughout the day including the following: The Big Plastic Count, Maggie the Magazine by Sarah Corkhill - local author/artist, Plastic Pollution, Fashion Recycling - Where do my clothes come from?, and the Forest Book - Protecting Nature.
It was an excellent day, learning about ways to be compassionate towards our planet and how to look after our environment for ourselves and future generations.
