Welcome to
Trinity CofE Primary School
Welcome
We would like to welcome you all to Trinity CofE Primary School.
Due to health and safety restrictions remaining in place within school due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have unfortunately been unable to welcome you in person and unable to offer our usual parent visits/tours at school.
Therefore, we have created this website page to provide all perspective new parents with all the necessary information about our School and what we have to offer your child starting school at Trinity in Class 1, as well as providing all the essential details regarding the planned transition arrangements that we have to put in place for this Summer Term and for September.
Please also explore our entire website for further information about our school.
We are very much looking forward to meeting you and your child in person and officially welcoming you to Trinity and Class 1 in the near future.

Initial Visits
Our Reception teacher, Mrs Ruth Aspin, will be in touch soon to make arrangements to visit your child at home or at their pre-school setting (depending on restrictions and preferences) in June. The purpose of this visit will be to get to know your child, to learn about their interests and to liaise with parents/carers or pre-school staff before initial transition visits to school.
We appreciate that social distancing measures and restrictions can potentially make this difficult, so we would like you to complete the online form below to state your preference for this visit:
1. Nursery visit (dependent on restrictions and the Nursery accepting visits too)
2. Brief home visit (to socially distance within the garden, weather permitting)
3. Virtual meeting (via Microsoft Teams - Mrs Aspin will send you a direct link to this video call)
4. Phone call

Taster Sessions
Unfortunately, these have been cancelled - all parents/carers have been emailed to explain this fully.
We will be offering an initial transition visit this Summer Term in July. We will be separating the reception cohort into two groups and each group will visit on a separate day. The welcome letter that you receive will explain which Group your child is in.
Group 1 children will come into school for their taster session on Monday 5th July – 9.10am-12pm
Group 2 children will come into school for their taster session on Tuesday 6th July - 9.10am-12pm

Transition Timetable
Below is the proposed transition timetable for September, which replicates similar arrangements to those that would have been normally been put in place previously.
We want to ensure that children have a smooth and confident start to school. We hope that our proposed timetable allows children to ease their way into school, become familiar with their surroundings, get to know their teacher and teaching assistants in Class 1, meet their new classmates, establish new routines and develop confidence at Trinity Primary School.
This transition period is especially important this year, considering that many children have been unable to attend Nursery during periods of time during the past year and therefore, have been away from an educational setting for a considerable time, missing out on essential preparation for Primary School.
Again, the welcome letter that you receive will explain which Group your child is in.
Please also note that we normally invite parents into school to have lunch, which is planned for Wednesday 8th September, but this will again be heavily dependent on DfE and Local Authority health and safety guidance.
We appreciate that you may need your child to start full-time education from the first day of school due to work commitments. We would also like you to state your preference in regards to this on the online form below.
