It will be streamed live at the link  below. (I don't think he'll be doing birthdays or giving out swimming badges though.)

Happy 100th Birthday Captain Tom Moore

From all of us at Trinity Primary we would like to wish you a very, very, special Happy 100th Birthday!

He is a true inspiration to us all in what he has achieved in his life time and most recently, raising up to nearly 30 million pounds for the incredible NHS, walking 100 laps of his back garden.  As well as achieving this remarkable amount of money, he has reached 'Number 1' in the charts alongside singer/actor Michael Ball with 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and recently has been made an honorary colonel by the Queen on his 100th birthday.

Once a hero - always a hero. You'll Never Walk Alone - Congratulations Captain Tom! We think the world of you.

Like confetti, 125,000 birthday cards for Captain Tom, cover a school hall in Bedfordshire, where he lives.

Respect our differences...

30/4/2020

Today, Mr Respectful would like you to have a discussion with your families  about 'respect' and 'differences'.

The golden rules to being respectful is, 'Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself' and 'Respect differences'.

These differences may be from likes and dislikes of food, music, football teams, etc. to  differences of a person's appearance, knowledge, physical ability, material goods, religion and general personal opinions e.g Political Views. We are all different in many, many ways and should all be respected.

Mr Respectful's Daily Quest

How many times can you be 'respectful' today?
Picture
Mr Respectful would really like you to take note of how many times you are respectful today.

Of course, being respectful doesn't just mean when you feel like it or even just for today! Being respectful should come naturally. We should always be respectful - it's about considering others.

Let's make being more respectful obvious today by recognising how many times we are so that we can learn to continue to be this way for always. Why? Well, it makes us a better person/individual in life. It's also fundamental that we respect ourselves as well as others.

So, firstly make a list of phrases you would use to be respectful in different scenarios. For example: Please, have my seat; Apologies, it's my mistake. Instead of using 'Could' you can replace with 'May' e.g. May I carry your bags for you? Actions can sometimes speak louder than words, for example: looking at the person who is speaking to acknowledge you are listening.

Secondly, Mr Respectful would like you to see how many times you can be respectful today. How might you help out at home? How kind can you be towards your siblings and pets? How can you be respectful towards your toys? How can you be respectful towards nature e.g. feeding the birds. Again, make a list of all the ways you have been respectful today.

Later, post in your lists of 'respectful phrases' and 'actions' you have taken to show respect.

Look forward to hearing from you - have a good day at being respectful!

Calling All Story Tellers

29/4/2020

Trinity - if you would like the opportunity of becoming a daily 'Story Teller' on the Trinity Blog and would like to jump at the chance, then listen closely!

Quite simply, choose a short story or a poem which can be read in 3 minutes - no longer! Ask a family member to kindly record you and then email it in to us at:
[email protected]
You can be as animated as you like - you could even dress-up!
Our magnificently talented Teaching Assistant Mrs Lowrie-Herz in Class 3 did just this (although you might not just recognise her!) and is today's story teller, in which she delivers an undoubtedly sensational Oscar performance for her rendition of the story 'The Giant Jam Sandwich?
Go Mrs Lowrie-Herz!  Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Welcome to Trinity Mr Respectful!

Daily Quest

You will be given a 'Daily Quest', each day of the school week, in order to find out lots of interesting facts about each character's value, along with many other challenges. Just think of yourselves as being 'Trinity Detectives' who will set out to complete daily missions!

So are you up for the challenge? Then - let's begin!

For today's challenge, Mr Respectful would like you to shower storm lots of other words that have the same meaning as his name, in English we call these 'synonyms', for example: polite.

You could even design your own poster with a picture of Mr Respectful himself on, with his other names (synonyms) he goes by, surrounding him, on your piece of paper. Once completed, email your posters to us so we can upload them onto the Trinity Blog. Or simply post your words, ideas and thoughts in the comments section - click on the link below. Either way, we'd love to hear from you!

How many words can you and your family think of? What images could you draw to go on your posters that represent the word 'respectful' and what it means to you?

Come on Trinity - let's see who can come up with the most words! Get cracking and don't forget to send them in - enjoy drawing our new Mr Men character - Mr Respectful, and as always have fun!
