Mr Inquisitive's Quest

Yesterday, Mr Inquisitive (known for his curiosity and questioning) introduced us to Albert Einstein, who like himself, was very inquisitive and went on to achieve and discover unbelievable things.

Today, he would like to introduce you to another famous individual whose curiosity and inquisitive mind lead him on to achieve fascinating knowledge in science - all through questioning theories. His nickname at University was Einstein - ring a bell? Below is his famous quote:
“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.”

Professor Stephen Hawking

Learn about his life in the links below to understand why he is a role model to us:

Having the confidence to question is one of the greatest gifts. It’s that sense of wonder that is such an important building block.

BE CURIOUS and INQUISITIVE in your learning! Question EVERYTHING!

Superstar reader Isabella Evanson of Class 5 has read over a million words and thus has become an Accelerated Reader Millionaire - largely helped by reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows during lockdown. Well done, Isabella - you're an inspiration to us all!

The Magic Door

Callum Hilditch of Class 5 has been doing some lovely descriptive writing based on the Magic Door:

I opened the magic door (it creaked) and I saw LEGOLAND, massive rides, food shops, Lego people and huge animals stomping along. I opened the magic door (it creaked again) and saw everyone with their families, I was too. I opened the magic door and saw Emit and Wildstyle running down the street, they were having a good time, I thought they were happy. I opened the magic door and saw people eating clouds because the clouds are Candyfloss. I opened the magic door and saw Titanic sinking, people jumping off the boat, it looked scary so I quietly shut the door . I opened the magic door and saw they need help so I ran in to the RNLI and said “HELP!” the Titanic is sinking, they did and everyone was rescued and we all went on the rides together. I opened the magic door and saw everybody having a good time and I felt good after helping people, I felt like a hero!

Curiosity is a wonderful thing and that's what being inquisitive is all about! Having the thirst for knowledge and questioning the world around you.

Albert Einstein (1879-1955) is considered one of the most important scientists in world history.

His discoveries changed the course of modern physics establishing the field of relativity.

As a child, Albert had a very lively and curious mind - he wanted to know how and why things around him worked. He was extremely inquisitive!

We are all inspired by Einstein's inquisitiveness to find out how things work. Being curious, open to new ideas and  eager to learn makes us  great learners. Remember what Einstein said...

It opens up a whole new world!
Today, Mr Inquisitive would like you to think of questions which you would like to find out about, using question words e.g. What? How? Why? Who? Where? Maybe you are curious and would like to find out how glass is made? What happens to our sewage? How are TV programmes made? Or you could even use this week's Picture News question: Who does outer space belong to?

Be inquisitive and make a list of questions. Find a nice, quiet area in your home and think just like Albert Einstein did as a child. Enjoy being curious!

Thank you to all the children who have sent in work from home today. We really do enjoy seeing what you've been up to - keep them coming in.
Ruby K celebrated VE Day with her sister, daddy, aunt, uncle and cousins;  in style, all dressed-up, and toured around her local community - to clap and wave the flag for our key workers and carers. Fantastic! It looks like you had lots of fun Ruby - well done and thank you for sharing your photograph!

Introducing...Mr Inquisitive

Welcome to Trinity Mr Inquisitive!
Picture
'Inquisitive' is another new Trinity 'School Value'. What a great word! But what does it mean?

This week, we're going to be learning what this word means and  know why it has been chosen to be one of our 'School Values'.

As always, a good starting point when you're learning the meaning of a new word is to find out lots of other words which have the same meaning - synonyms. So, get researching in dictionaries, thesauruses, on the search engine and have a conversation with your families to see how many other words have the same meaning and what do they think 'inquisitive' means.

Also, have a discussion with your families as to why you think it's important to be 'inquisitive'. Is it a good trait to have? If so, why?

Post your answers in the 'Comments' section and have a chat with your friends to see what they have to say.

Happy researching Trinity and have a happy Monday!
