Today's story teller is our lovely Teaching Assistant, Mrs Cockerham-Barker, reading 'Grunt', from her small holding. Watch carefully because two little pets make star appearances - very cute! Enjoy today's story. You can now find all the storytelling videos on our 'Storytelling' page. Matthew, in Class 2, has been extremely busy at home, colouring in pictures and flags as well as setting up a 'Teddy Bears' Tea Party', to celebrate VE Day with his family. Great job Matthew! Have a super day.
The Resilience of a Nation ![]() VE DAY, or Victory in Europe Day, commemorates the official end of the Second World War in Europe. Celebrations will be taking place today all over the country, with social distancing in mind. If you are celebrating today with your families and would like to share this special moment in time, please send in some photographs for the Blog. It would be great to see how you are all marking this memorable occasion. Don't miss the spitfire flypast which is being televised early afternoon.

Today's story is read by Mrs Griffiths, from her very own greenhouse! She will be reading 'Jasper's Beanstalk'. What a great idea for the setting Mrs Griffiths - very fit for the occasion! Enjoy the story. ![]() Little Miss Resilient would like you to celebrate your qualities and gifts (natural talents) today. You can make your own box if you have a printer at home, if not then find a small box to decorate. Here is a link to print off a box template. Then, all you'll need to decorate are some colouring in pencils/felt-tip pens and maybe some stickers. http://printables.atozteacherstuff.com/download/cube_outline.pdf This activity, is about recognising and appreciating the gifts and qualities that you have. Once you have made/found and decorated your box, you then need to sit down and write your qualities and gifts on small pieces of paper which will then go inside your box. Fill your box with as many as you would like. The idea is to identify and appreciate 'who you are inside'. Your qualities may be: loyal, thoughtful, helpful, funny and your gifts may be: mathematician, writer, speaker, story teller, artistic, athletic, to name but a few. Once you have finished, share these gifts and qualities with your family and describe why you chose each one and give examples as to why you chose these qualities. So remember, today is about recognising who you are inside and celebrating your special qualities and gifts. Be confident and proud of who you are. Reading from her crows nest, Pirate Coutts (aka the lovely Mrs Coutts, although you might not just recognise her!) will be sharing 'The Night Pirates' story. Enjoy! Millie in Class 3, was inspired to read in a new setting today for fun, after watching the teachers' video from this morning, found on the home-learning page. We hope you enjoyed reading your book from the top of your wonderful slide Millie and in the glorious sunshine. Happy reading! William - Class 2 Evie - Class 2 Sophie - Class 3
